The Cercle des Amateurs de Vin (CAV, Wine amateurs club) is the oenology club of the Ecole des Mines in Paris.This student club is very active and organizes regular wine degustations led by specialists (oenologists, wine growers,...) as well as gastronomic trips in France. It received some awards and is very appreciated by both student and professionals allowed to attend the sessions.

I stumbled across this album purely on accident and I am glad that I did. I am a longtime fan of SAVATAGE and while on their website, I found out about CIRCLE II CIRCLE. I have always been a fan of Zak Stevens since I first heard him on EDGE OF THORNS. I consider him to be one of the best vocalists in the world of metal and although I like Jon Oliva and was happy for his return to fronting SAVATAGE, I missed Zak`s presence. This album does have that SAVATAGE feel to it but I wont take anything from it for that. If you dug EDGE OF THORNS, and HANDFULL OF RAIN then you will dig this. In fact I like this better than the last couple of releases that SAVATAGE has put out ( hopefully their next release wont be yet another concept album). Now dont get me wrong, I am not in any way putting down SAVATAGE. I own their entire collection and I love all their albums but I also love the two CIRCLE II CIRCLE albums as well. Highlights include the title cut WATCHING IN SILENCE, LIES, FO! RGIVEN, FIELDS OF SORROW, and my personal fave; WALLS. I feel that even with the many comparisons to SAVATAGE, this band is carving out their own identity and may one day become a major player in the metal world. This is good stuff here and I recommend this to anyone looking for good music. The Metal Historian hath spoken and approves.

Thatching is the art or craft of covering a roof with vegetative materials such as straw, reed (plant)|reed or sedge. Thatch is one of the oldest roofing materials and has been used by traditional builders on every continent except Antarctica. It offers excellent insulation value (generally R40) at little or no cost for materials and is relatively easy to repair. Thatch has fallen out of favor in much of the industrialized world due to its relative flammability and the lack of skilled thatchers. New flame retardants make thatch more competitive with modern materials but insurance companies and municipal building inspectors often discourage its use. England, which is currently undergoing a revival in thatching, has at least 30,000 thatched buildings and is widely regarded as having some of the best examples of the art.A roof thatched with water reed (a more durable and water-resistant material than straw) will last approximately 70 years with very little maintenance. When a t! hatch roof is in need of repair a new layer is often placed over the old. On old buildings up to four feet of thatch can accumulate.

These guys are super hi-energy on the fast tunes (eraser, bring the vapor) and totally off the wall on the groovier tunes (is it boiling, crack rock). I bought this disc at one of thier shows in Kalamazoo MI in 2001. It was one most favorites out of my 150+ CD's, then.. one day.. it was gone! I thought I would never hear crack rock again. Its one of the best strange songs EVER! But I've been searching the web in vain every few months in hopes of finding it. After almost a year I found it, and I've been rocking in ever since!

For the Exposition Universelle (1855)|1855 Exposition Universelle de Paris, Emperor Napoleon III of France|Napoleon III requested a classification system for France's best Bordeaux wines which were to be on display for visitors from around the world. Brokers from the wine industry ranked the wines according to a ch?teau's reputation and trading price, which at that time was directly related to quality. The result was the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.The wines were ranked in importance from first_growth|first to fifth growths (crus). All of the red wines that made it on the list came from the M?doc region except for the Ch?teau Haut-Brion from Graves. The white wines, then of much less importance than red wine, were limited to the sweet varieties of Sauternes and Barsac and were ranked only from first great growth to second growth. Within each category, the various vineyards are ranked in order of quality and only once since the 1855 classification has there ! been a change, when in 1973, Ch?teau Mouton Rothschild was elevated from a second growth to a first growth vineyard. Interestingly, since it is a classification of Ch?teaux, the actual vineyards owned by some wineries have expanded and shrunk without any reclassification. Determining an up-to-date classification is favorite parlor game, especially among French wine enthusiasts.
